Uniqso Gakupo Wig Review + Detangling Tutorial

Hello lovelies ♥ I'm back with another review~

This time, on one of Uniqso's wigs! This is the Gakupo wig~

For review on the wig as well as a detangling tutorial keep reading!~

You can use the code: bnamu10 for a 10% discount!

Also, the lenses I'm wearing are the Barbie Puffy 3 Tone Violet

The wig came with DHL shipping which was really quick!
Took about 3~5 days to arrive; processing time is different however.

Inside was the wig;

It came in a plastic package, with a cardboard rim to keep it's shape;; (pretty standard)

Here's the wig out of packaging as well as a nude wig cap; (usually they're black so I was like woah when I saw a nude one ahah!)

The wig cap comes with instructions in the back in case you are new to the whole wig thing~ It's pretty simple to follow, you'll just need some practice to get the hang of it ^^;

Here's a close up of the fibers on the wig; already out of the packaging the fibers start flying everywhere, but initially they aren't a problem, it just looks a little messy - with a few brushes it will look fine~

This is what the inside of the wig looks like, it's a nice study lace cap, it is slightly big for my head, but that's what the back hooks are for!

This is the ponytail part of the wig; if you didn't know already - most wigs with a pony tail come like this - the ponytails are separate and you attach them with this clip.

Stock:
The wig has really nice curls in the ponytail; its too bad its just a short wig with an attached ponytail; it would be awesome dual purpose / cosplay wig if it had a full long with along with the ponytail - but this is specific to Gakupo so it's also really nice~

The length of the longer parts + the ponytail is 90cm which is roughly 35 inches.
The wig is pretty long, and long wigs are pretty awesome, except for the fact they tangle easily, which is why I decided to include the detangling tutorial with this review~

I'm not too great as crossplaying, since my face is more on the rounder side, so it's difficult for me to crossplay; but instead of cosplaying Gakupo, I feel this wig is just super adorable and can still be used for any sort of cosplay - female or male;

Crossplaying is all in the contorting and sharper eye makeup; also adjusting the bangs;
originally the bangs brushed out looked like this;

Super long and covering the eyes; I had to cut the bangs slightly and style them to match the character / stock images.

Overall, the wig is really smooth and silky. It's very comfortable, but the front strands sometimes get in the way and can get caught on things (I was going from the bathroom to my room and such and the wig got caught on some of the door handles and stuff ahah..), other than that - the wig looks to fit Gakupo pretty well - it definitely matches the stock photo in looks and color which is great!

Now for the tutorial:

After initally receiving the wig and taking it out and checking it out, the wig was pretty fine and very nicely brushed out and such - with some fibers being places, but after a few days the wig started to get tangled in the bag.
I left it in the packaging for about a week before I could take photos since I was busy during the weekdays.
After the week; the longer parts of the wig started to look like this;

 As you can see they started to become quite a mess.. not as messy as my Miku wig though.. that was unsaveable.. RIP Miku wig...
This hasn't gone down that path as of yet; there's still a chance!

Here's a simple way to detangle wigs if you don't have a wig detangler

Materials:
Spray Bottle
Water
Fabric Softener / Lotion (didn't try to lotion method, but it should work the same way)
Brush (best to get a sturdier one if the tangles are really bad)

Steps:

1. Mix water and fabric softener (5:1) in the spray bottle
2. For longer wigs; make sure to hang it in a secure place - clothes hook or something along those lines to make it easier to brush.
3. Spray on tangled parts of wig
4. Start brushing wig; bottom up to avoid further tangles
brushes top to bottom pushes tangles down so it will be harder to brush out - bottom up with get rid of the initial tangles on the bottom and make it easier to brush the top.
If the tangles are really serious, it's pretty much useless trying to struggle to get them out; your best best would to cut them out.
5. It takes patience, but after detangling the wig, leave it for about 2 hours to dry before wearing~

Good luck~!
